YG Entertainment has released an official statement on the reports that BLACKPINK’s Lisa was scammed out of one billion won by a former manager.
A representative from YG told Newsen that after checking within the company they found that it was indeed true. Lisa wants things to be settled smoothly because it was a manager she had trusted. The manager returned part of what he had taken from Lisa, and they agreed on a repayment plan before he left the company.
Following this statement, YG apologized for worrying the fans with this news. The company is baffled by the news that one of their trusted staff members would do this, but says they take full responsibility for not monitoring more closely. They say they will create prevention measures so this does not happen again.
The manager told Lisa he would look into real estate for her, took one billion won and spent it all on gambling. He is no longer employed by YG.
