According to a report made by Dispatch, MINO of the group WINNER went clubbing in Yangyang, Gangwon Province over the long holiday weekend in Korea.
The club, which will be called Club A (not the true name), was newly opening that weekend and brought visitors out from Seoul by a shuttle bus.
MINO went to the club and put on an impromptu performance, taking the microphone from the DJ stand and performing his hit track “Fiancé”. People gathered around MINO, most with their masks down over their chins instead of covering their faces.
Club A told Dispatch that MINO happened to visit the club and that they had not officially invited him for a performance. They explained their situation, saying the club did not have many visitors that night because it was the end of the holiday weekend. Most of the visitors were MINO’s friends.
MINO is still facing backlash for ignoring the Korean government’s strong recommendations to continue social distancing. Although Club A followed the government requirements for operating an entertainment business at this time, such as providing hand sanitizer, checking people’s temperatures at entry, taking names and contact numbers, and requiring masks, many of the visitors did not follow the prevention guidelines.
The current new outbreak in Seoul started due to people going clubbing during the same time period.
