Gaon Music Chart, one of the top Korean charts to track overall digital and physical sales in South Korea, updated their weekly Retail Album Chart numbers for the dates April 12 to April 18! The “Retail Album Chart” tracks the total number of albums sold at retail stores.
This week’s chart features some strong artists who continue to sell well even a week or more after their comeback, as well as some hot new releases!
1. WINNER – Remember
WINNER‘s third full length album, “Remember“, took one step up to take the number 1 spot on this week’s Gaon Retail Album Chart! Following its release on April 9, “Remember” sold 27,633 copies between April 12-18. Although this is less than the 71,000 sold from April 9-11, it was enough to get them the number 1 spot on this week’s chart!
WINNER has unfortunately been unable to promote this album due to Jinu and Hoony’s enlistments.
2. Apink – LOOK
Apink came back with their ninth mini album, “LOOK“, on April 13! The title track, “Dumhdurum“, topped realtime and daily music charts in Korea along with its release, and the album sold 21,472 copies in the first week!
3. CRAVITY – HIDEOUT : REMEMBER WHO WE ARE
CRAVITY made their debut on April 14 with their first mini album, “HIDEOUT: REMEMBER WHO WE ARE“! Despite limitations on offline promotions due to the COVID-19 outbreak, CRAVITY is off to a strong start by selling 20,820 copies of their debut album during the week of April 12-18.
4. Suho (EXO) – Self-Portrait
Suho makes the top five on Gaon’s Retail Album Chart for the third week in a row with his solo debut album, “Self-Portrait“! This week he sold 13,896 copies of the album, more than doubling his sale count from last week.
5. MAX (TVXQ) – Chocolate
MAX (Changmin) of TVXQ is in the top five for the second week in a row with his solo debut album, Chocolate! MAX managed to sell 3,053 copies of Chocolate last week, showing his fans’ support is still going strong.
As more and more comebacks are scheduled for the final week of April and the first few weeks of May, it’s expected the competition on the Gaon Retail Album Chart to go way up!
In the next few weeks we will see comebacks by NCT DREAM, OH MY GIRL, ASTRO, MONSTA X, NU’EST, and DAY6… Who do you think will come out on top?
