K-pop boy group member brand rankings revealed for May!

The Korean Business Research Institute released their analysis of K-pop boy group members’ brand reputation rankings for May! A brand reputation ranking is an analysis of the value of a group or person’s name in media, not necessarily popularity. Their rankings are made through analysis on media attention, consumer interest and interaction, and the positivity of reactions to the group or their content from big data gathered over a month.

The data was gathered between April 14 to May 15. The overall amount of big data analyzed increased 10.99% from April.

BTS‘s Jimin once again takes the number 1 spot with his brand ranking index of 6,121,244. His score decreased 18.34% compared to last month, but it is not a surprise considering BTS has not done any active promotions in Korea in the past month. The most common keywords linked with his name were “perfect”, “join (a cause)”, and “release”, while the most commonly related search terms were “Lie”, “Filter”, and “ARMY”. “Lie” and “Filter” are both Jimin’s solo tracks, and they have gained attention recently for their high rankings on Billboard!

Baekhyun of EXO took the number 2 spot this month, going up one rank compared to April! Baekhyun’s brand ranking index came out to 5,608,321, which is a 10.12% decrease from April. With Baekhyun’s solo comeback coming up later this month on May, it’s likely we can expect his individual brand ranking score to go up before the end of the month!

ASTRO‘s Cha Eunwoo jumped up the rankings this month along with ASTRO’s comeback with “GATEWAY”! His brand ranking index rose to 5,406,125, which is a 78.15% increase from last month! Cha Eunwoo continues to gain attention and popularity through his unrivaled looks, his acting ability, and his great performances with his group!
